The Diamond Cluster Band
Client: Riley C.
1. What stones/pieces did Riley have to start with?
This project was unique because alongside it, we were also designing a ring for the client's sister, Taylor! Riley came to us with Diamonds of various sizes inherited from her Grandmother.
2. Did Riley bring any inspiration photos or visions/style ideas to the table?
We started with inspiration photos, as a designer it is helpful to me to get a baseline idea of what the client is thinking. Riley was looking for a dainty, thin gold band with a “cluster” of diamonds as the main focus.
3. What obstacles did you encounter during the design process?
The only problem we ran into during the design process was nailing down stone placement. There was only one 1.3mm white stone- and since Taylor wanted a range of sizes, we had to decide if we were going to add in a few more stones to make it look aesthetically more balanced OR stick with what we had and adjust based on the stones we had. After looking at a few different options, Riley decided on stone placement. (pictured below - bottom left)
Additional drawings were made showing a detailed stone placement, including the added diamonds.
